Sigur Rós - Náttúra, Reykjavik, Laugardalur Park 28.06.2008 FM Broadcast

By Request: Here is the wonderful Náttúra concert. Superb quality and a great atmosphere made this one of the best concerts of 2008. The source of this concert is the German FM broadcast. The last song, Popplagið was cut after 9 minutes on this version so I have included the full uncut Popplagið from the Italian FM broadcast as separate file which you can add if you wish. You may notice some sound artifacts on the recording - this is from wind blowing over the microphones! Enjoy. Thanks as always to those through who's efforts made this post possible.

Message To Bears - Departures NEW ALBUM - Exclusive!

Message To Bears - Departures NEW ALBUM - Exclusive!

It give me great pleasure to announce the new debut full length album from 'Message To Bears'. This is a much richer and matured effort from Jerome's last offering 'Message to Bears - EP 1' (which he kindly agreed to be posted here for free download - [link]
'Departures' offers a wonderfully paced acoustic ambient album occasionally slowing, to include some beautiful thoughtful orchestral moments and at one point stopping altogether to leave you immersed in a rainstorm which has previously been built up with the music, now absent. This is great springtime music which will fit perfectly with the brighter days that are coming. Highly recommended.
There are 2 songs for exclusive download here along with links to a specially priced pre-order of this limited edition CD.

The Tumbled Sea - Melody/Summer LP

It is with absolute delight that I would like to announce the new 2nd release by the blissful 'The Tumbled Sea' You may remember I gave his 1st release my own personal Album of the year for 2008. He kindly allowed it to be posted here and downloaded for free [link]
You can listen and download the new album from the player just to the right.

" When I first received the e-mail announcing a new album from 'The Tumbled Sea' I downloaded the Loss Less version immediately without checking, because I had no doubts it would occupy a special place in my music collection, and I wasn't dissapointed. Its sometimes hard to write about such a subjective thing as your own experience of music, as it effects people in different ways but what usually turns me on to a particular piece of music is how it makes me feel and the visions and ideas that come through listening to it. In the case of the music of The Tumbled Sea in general and with this new album in particular - Im always left with a sense of deep peace, surrender, calmness, forgivness, completion and acceptance. Amongst the quiet joy that flows in this music there is a delicate hint of sadness that threads its way through both albums but its a sadness that comes from perhaps moving to a new and beautiful place whilst at the same time having to leave things behind. Also, for me this album lends itself to a beautiful imagery of walking through meadows with the one you love on a perfect summers day " I cant reccomend this music enough

UPDATE: The limited edition CD's are now ready and can be found here [LINK] Each one has been beautifully hand made and printed

We All Inherit The Moon - S/T

We All Inherit The Moon - S/T

Another new discovery and a beautiful one at that. Its hard to describe so I will just borrow some words from someone else
"Measured and elegantly poised We All Inherit the Moon craft out the most alluring of fragile snow globed montages that we’ve had the pleasure of hearing in such a long while"
This really is a stunning debut. Originally released on 180g vinyl the album is currently offered by the band for free download. Just released is a split CD with 'The Ascent Of Everest' on offer for digital download at only $5.00 / £3.40. You can stream the entire album at the link below. Jacob Harris - Who Weaves Bright Dreams / Safe Haven Harbours Multitudes

Jacob Harris - Who Weaves Bright Dreams / Safe Haven Harbours Multitudes

Two fantastic ambient drone releases here from the very talented Jacob Harris. The first 'Who Weaves Bright Dreams' is like a mix between Eluvium and Stars of the Lid and the second, 'Safe Haven Harbours Multitudes' is reminiscent of Tarantel. Both albums are superb examples in this particular field of music.
Released under the creative commons license.

Royal Train - An Underwater Call / The Balcony Compositions

Royal Train - An Underwater Call / The Balcony Compositions

Two more albums here of excellent drone music. Both these albums are great examples of quite minimalistic ambient drone. 'An Underwater Call' is the deeper, quieter of the two where as 'The Balcony Compositions', just released, is much warmer and musical. Fans of both earlier and later Stars Of The Lid will most likely appreciate this music. Drone is not always an easy genre to get right but when its done well it can be very beautiful, relaxing and naturally draws you in. I feel 'The Balcony Compositions' does this particularly well.

Sigur ros - Munchen, Germany 21.02.2003

Sigur ros - Munchen, Germany 21.02.2003

New concert posted in un mastered section The Munchen show was perhaps one of the best shows of 2003 and rightly recieved a 10 minute standing ovation [link]
It should be noted this is a 128kbps but is very good quality considering. However i do feel the original could be improved enormously from a re-master, hint, hint - (if anyone has or knows a source for the loss less version it be very much appreciated by myself and a LOT of fans)

Sigur Rós - Firenze, Italy 24.11.2005 Re Master 09

Another exceptional concert both in content and sound quality, and pace. The only criticism would be that the drums clip slightly at their loudest and there is some audience chatter. It is still however a superb quality recording.

Sigur Ros - Gothenburg, Sweden 03.11.2005 Re Master 09

Sigur Rós - Gothenburg, Sweden 03.11.2005 Re Master 09

I think this concert will in time become known and loved as a classic in the collection of Sigur Ros fans. It easily stands out as the best show from 2005. All the usual attributes are there that make a great concert, crystal clear voice, wonderfully balanced instruments and amazing energy throughout but, what makes this one special is the bass. You really FEEL the bass as a tangible force beating on the ears. This may depend to some degree on listening through good headphones but nevertheless I think this is special. I love this concert!
