Sigur Rós - Montreux Jazz Festival 13.07.2001 - 1st GEN MASTER

Sigur Rós - Montreux Jazz Festival 13.07.2001 - 1st Gen MASTER

Lineage: Soundboard DAT (PIAS promo recording) > CD-R (1st gen) > EAC v0.99 prebeta 5 (Secure Mode) > FLAC > Abode Audition 3 > FLAC > you

This is the 3rd time now this concert has appeared here but with very good reason. This final version, presented here I have mastered from a 1st generation copy of the original, kindly passed to me by Einzak.
I must stress this version sounds nothing like the other versions we have heard to date. This definitive Master is nothing short of superb in every way. Whilst the original had a wonderful, calm, mellow sound, this final Master sounds Epic!
A lot of work went into this master and I now feel completely satisfied with this particular concert and feel excited for fans and new comers to Sigur rós to experience the band at their very best. You can also download this via torrent over on Dimeadozen . There is currently something like 130 seeders!

Arab Strap - Punters Club Melbourne, Australia 17.03.2001

Arab Strap - Punters Club Melbourne, Australia 17.03.2001

Arab Strap were a Scottish indie band 1995-2006 made up of Aidan Moffet & Malcolm Middleton on guitar. As I like to occasionally post something people may not of heard of or something a little different here is Arab Strap at their best.
Its not easy to explain the sound of Arab Strap if you havn't heard them or, if you have heard them why they are so compelling! Aidan doesn't so much sing as monologue his songs. What makes them so interesting is the fascinating ordinariness of the tales he tells. Not perhaps easy listening at first but give it some time. :)

Frakkur - Kling og Bang - Reykjavík Iceland 01.05.2004

Frakkur - Kling og Bang - Reykjavík Iceland 01.05.2004

As we will soon have some brand new Jónsi I thought it would nice to post one his earlier solo projects. (Photo's included in the download)

"This first public appearance of frakkur (a.k.a. jónsi birgisson) was a part of kitchen motors's 5 year birthday celebration, held at the klink og bank building in reykjavík on may 1st 2004. the concert began with four musicians onstage but frakkur was nowhere to be seen, until a faint drum could be heard approaching from the back of the building. this was frakkur entering the building, in full costume, followed by the girls choir of kársnesskóli. frakkur circled through the crowd and led the choir to the stage, where he drummed and sang. joining frakkur onstage were jazz musicians hilmar jenssen on guitar, skúli sverrisson on bass, matthías hemstock on percussion and orri páll dýrason on pots and pans. the performance lasted for only 10 minutes, after which frakkur led the choir back the same way they came"

Múm - Ancienne Belgique Brussels, Belgium 16.04.2004 SBD

Múm - Ancienne Belgique Brussels, Belgium 16.04.2004 SBD

Good news: This is a SBD. Bad news: its only 192mp3. But if it wasn't a superb sounding concert it wouldn't be here! so download this one with confidence. I'm not a huge fan of Múm but this particular concert incorporates all that I do like about them. Its a flawlessly performed, very mellow, & ethereal show. Highly recommended if you prefer the older sounding Múm .

F.S Blumm - Le Guess Who? 28.11.2009

F.S Blumm - Le Guess Who? 28.11.2009

An truly impressive performance. Everything you hear is created through the use of, amongst other things, plastic cocktail stirrers, a ping pong ball, a toy carousel and of course his nylon string guitar.
If there is enough interest I can post the video as well...

Peter Broderick - Live - STUK, Belgium 10.12.2009

Peter Broderick - Live - STUK, Belgium 10.12.2009

On December 10 & 11, 09, I played 2 very special concerts in Leuven, Belgium, @ the amazing STUK venue. They were label nights for Slaapwel records, who only release music to sleep to, and recently released my Music for a Sleeping Sculpture. They installed 50 beds, & everyone in the audience slept over, while me & 2 other artists performed in the middle of the room.

I only have a recording of the 1st night. I went on around 1 am, and performed for two & a half hours or so, until my musical brain was tired, and then went to sleep among the audience. I started off performing quiet versions of a couple songs people had requested, and then improvised the rest around a couple loose themes.

I wouldn’t recommend listening intently all the way through, but instead maybe try putting it on quietly in the background while you go about your business, cleaning your room, working on your computer, cooking dinner, taking a walk, laying in bed, etc. – Peter

Lovely stuff :)

Mono - Live 10.11.2005 Philadelphia - Re-Master - NEW SOURCE 2010

Mono - Live 10.11.2005 Philadelphia - Re-Master - NEW SOURCE 2010

Lineage: SP-CMC-4 (ORTF, 8' stand, back of room/center) > M-Audio Microtracker 2496 (16/44.1 WAV)
WAV off CF Card > PC > Sony CD Architect > CD > Grip (Linux) > WAVs > flac 1.1.2 (linux) > Flacs> Re-Master> Flac sbe. Taped by blindman

This is a re-post of this concert but its a re-master from a new source. Easily the very best live
recording of Mono I've ever heard. Superb in every way even during the most frantic, loud moments. This is of course led to a great Master, one which for me is a joy not just to hear but to experience as well.
It starts of very quiet and ends up being perhaps slightly 'bottom heavy' during the first song but I feel it balances out of its own accord during the show although this will depend on your own set up. Would be interested in any comments. Antway, I love this recording/master. Its very powerful, enjoy it. I couldn't find a contact for the taper but I think we have done his excellent recording justice.

Set List:

01 The flames beyond the cold mountain
02 The kidnapper bell
03 where am I?
04 16:12
05 Sabbath
06 Lost snow
07 Halcyon (Beautiful Days)
