Been hit by 3 different & very exciting releases recently so I thought Id post info here for all 3:
Sleepingdog/Adam Wiltzie (of Stars Of The Lid) - (Released 25/04/2001)
Both Sleepingdog & Stars Of The Lid have seen live material posted here before. The fact that Adam Wiltzie of the famed 'Stars Of The Lid' has released some new music is always a rare and precious thing. The album itself is just beautiful, the delicate, acoustic, minimal delivery of Chantal is married perfectly with the ambient bliss of Adam.
I'll be adding more info on this particular release soon but for now, please enjoy this exclusive 1st listen of the track 'Scary Movie'
Josh T. Pearson - Last Of The Country Gentlemen - (Released 14/03/2011)
Its quite likely you wont recognize the name. Its also possible you wont have heard of the album 'The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads' by Josh's band 'Lift To Experience' However that album was one of John Peel's all time favorites and has been described as one of the best of the best Debut albums ever released. It took me a while to get into it with a first hearing but given time it is quite simply, a work of art.
Anyway, the band broke up and for 10 years we have heard nothing from Josh until suddenly, out of nowhere, we have 'Last Of The Country Gentlemen' A largely acoustic album of just seven songs spanning over sixty minutes, its a soul wrenchingly beautiful, open and honest offering from someone with the courage to share some of the personal yet universal pains, triumphs & truths of everyday life. Even those who may not like this type of music will still find it very difficult not be affected.
