2001.04.21 St. Georges Church, Brighton UK - Re Master

Lineage: Unkown AUD

Quality/Performance: 95/100

This concert has come as a real surprise, the quality being very different from the 1st time I came across this concert. The sound is just amazingly good but what's most exciting is having the 3 'Rimur' songs here as performed by Steindor Anderson in a quality I don't believe we have heard before. Simply stunning.

However... Only the first nine songs are in this quality. The last four (which originaly I wasn't going to include) are off an inferior

standard but for the sake of completeness they are included as a '2nd disk'

Part 2 of the FLAC downloads just contains the 3 Rimur tracks if you particularly want those on their own

Set List:

01 Fyrsta

02 Samskeyti

2001.04.13 Szene Wien, Vienna - Re Master

Lineage: SBD

Quality/Performance: 99/100

I had done a previous master on this one but realised during the process that the previous version was an FM broadcast where as this version is a soundboard! and as such the quality is just about as good as you could wish for in a live recording. What is particularly impressive is the soundstage... Listen to the drums during the latter parts of Von and you will see what I mean. The quality & performance of this one put its easily within the top 5 of all time great live Sigur Rós recordings. Just wonderful. Phenomenal almost 2 hour long concert.

NB: There are some drops in the very quietest sections of the audio although not enough to spoil the recording. This is due to the settings on the compressor which I used. Because the over all sound was so good I didn't want to change anything so Ive left these [very slight] faults in.

Set List:

01 Intro - Fur Alina

02 Nyjá Lagio

03 Fyrsta

05 Olsen Olsen

06 Von

07 Ny Batterí

08 DaudlagiÖ

Exactly the same concert as the webcast only this one is recorded from the radio directly in Iceland (notes included with upload) Only available in FLAC. Well worth it though! Its fitting that this last concert of Jónsi's is by far the best live quality recording. The way its been mixed is just sublime. I absolutely love it!

Full credit to ZzubEvol for doing such a superb job of recording what is not exactly the easiest band in the world to capture. I was so happy to find a recording of from what many people have said, was one the very best performances that GY!BE have given during this historic reunion tour. I haven't done much in the way of mastering as it was already such a good recording. Stunningly powerful with crystal clear cymbals & thunderous drums & guitar this really is one of those special concerts so I must again say thanks to the Taper for their effort & kindness in sharing this extraordinary concert.

1st thing 1st. Thanks SO very much to Thorazine & Chris without whom this post would not have been possible.

Words can't really express the awesome! :) As you can imagine Im very excited about this post, the first new Godspeed we have seen for years. I hope you'll agree its been worth the wait. Nothing of the epic potency has been lost from these masters of Post Rock. As usual Ive mastered this to give something of the 'feel' of actually being at a Godspeed concert.

Again, if I may suggest setting your EQ to zero to begin and changing it to your personal taste if need be. (Tapers notes included in download)

Joanna Newsom - 1st Unitarian Church, Philadelphia 2006.11.16 VIDEO

Absolutely stunning 116 minute video of Joanna Newsom & her band from 2006. It took me a while to get into Joanna's music but at the insistence of a friend I kept listening and now she is one my favourite musicians & lyricists. She is totally enchanting to watch and thanks to 'Schlacking's' stella work we now have this opportunity.
