Sigur Rós - Enmore Theatre, Sydney 12.04.2006 Re Master 09

This show is absolutely brilliant and will almost defiantly be in the top 10 of all time Sigur ros concerts. The balance of sound is fantastic, Jonsi's voice in particular is so strong. Over the course of working with these concerts there are some emerging which have such a great sound quality that it becomes a pleasure listening to them on that basis alone! This concert should be a part of a fans collection. Special thanks to Chris for his kind permission to post this concert

Machinefabriek - Live - DeSingel, Antwerp, 17.04.2008

Here is a treat and a quite a rarity at that, a live performance from Machinefabriek. Its likely many people will not have heard of him but if you are a fan of minimal, ambient, drone type music you may be impressed to know that he is the favourite artist of Jasper TX, himself a master of Minimal ambient drone. Music to dream and fall asleep too

Sigur Rós - Palais Theatre, Melbourne 11.04.2006 - Re Master 09

This is the first '06 concert which really stands out for me sound wise - I love it! Jonsi's voice really stands out in the mix with an awesome bass and great depth of character from the instruments. Essentially what you would expect from great recording with great mics. I didn't do much with the sound as it has already been superbly recorded and edited but I did add a little mastering sparkle and depth. There is still another 7 or 8 2006 concerts to go but this one is by far my favourite to date. Thanks so much to Taper 'whatabout bob' for this one. (I dont have any contact details for 'whataboutbob' so if you would like to contact me please e-mail)

Sigur ros - Grand Rapids (Late Show) 18.02.2006 Re Master 09

Excellent concert in every respect. Very well balanced sound. After listening to this again its a lot better than I originally thought for the simple reason that nothing stands out in particular, which indicates that the various aspects of the sound are all working well together to give a smooth easy to listen to enjoyable concert. Its sometimes tempting when working with these concerts to emphasize aspects such as making the drums extra punchy or the sound extra bright but in general, if there is nothing in the mix distracting you from the music itself its so much easier on the ear and so all your focus simply goes on just enjoy the music rather than being distracted by any fancy audio effects. I think to some degree we have succeeded with this one. Thanks as always to the taper for their kindness

Superb quality and energy. The bass is punchy and warm, the voice is strong, well rounded and sits very well in the mix. Other elements of the sound are really nice as well, clear and balanced.

With this concert we start the 2006 series. Quite a nice show. The bass is fairly prominent and with the over all sound and feel being soft and gentle this is a nice one to start with. Thanks to T Harrington for kindly taping this and sharing.
Note: I will be posting all concerts from now on with fixed SBE's as standard.

Sigur Rós - Teatro Della Concordio, Torino 25.11.2005 FM Broadcast - Re Master 09

A very nice quite lively concert. Because its an FM Broadcast the sound does contain some features which you would expect. This translated as the sound being 'calmed down' a little bit, some of the high end 'excitement' was reduced and a little bit of warmth and bass was added. You can still hear some warbled artifacts in the background and the overall sound is still very bright but this doesn't work against what is an excellent concert. The last track is cut. Thanks to StreetSpirit for the original taping.

Explosions In The Sky - The Koos Cafe, CA 06.07.03 - VIDEO

Very nice audience cam video of Explosions. A little shaky at first but soon settles into a great concert from Explosions in their early days. Excellent sound as well. 44 minutes. 480MB wmv
- I thought it would be nice to include the 'un-released' Explosions song to the TV theme track of Friday Night Lights here as well -

Sigur Rós - Náttúra, Reykjavik, Laugardalur Park 28.06.2008 FM Broadcast

By Request: Here is the wonderful Náttúra concert. Superb quality and a great atmosphere made this one of the best concerts of 2008. The source of this concert is the German FM broadcast. The last song, Popplagið was cut after 9 minutes on this version so I have included the full uncut Popplagið from the Italian FM broadcast as separate file which you can add if you wish. You may notice some sound artifacts on the recording - this is from wind blowing over the microphones! Enjoy. Thanks as always to those through who's efforts made this post possible.

Message To Bears - Departures NEW ALBUM - Exclusive!

Message To Bears - Departures NEW ALBUM - Exclusive!

It give me great pleasure to announce the new debut full length album from 'Message To Bears'. This is a much richer and matured effort from Jerome's last offering 'Message to Bears - EP 1' (which he kindly agreed to be posted here for free download - [link]
'Departures' offers a wonderfully paced acoustic ambient album occasionally slowing, to include some beautiful thoughtful orchestral moments and at one point stopping altogether to leave you immersed in a rainstorm which has previously been built up with the music, now absent. This is great springtime music which will fit perfectly with the brighter days that are coming. Highly recommended.
