Sigur Rós - Odin's Raven Magic - The Barbican, London 21.04.2002 - Re Master (Re-Post)

Sigur Rós - Odin's Raven Magic - The Barbican, London 21.04.2002 - Re Master

I noticed one of the most visited pages on Victoryrosemusic was this one, Odin's Raven Magic. When I checked the original post, made back in 2008 I realised it still had an old Rapidshare link on it & didn't include a Flac version, so apologies for that. In both of these uploads I have included the scanned program of the evening.

The re-mastering of this amazing concert has breathed new life into what is a modern classic. I have removed all clapping in the interludes so you have what amounts to a seamless experience.
There is some excess noise on the first two tracks which unfortunately came with the original, I tried to EQ them out but in the end I have just left them so as not change the track as a whole. Sorry.

If you havn't got this one get it, if you have it already be sure to download this re-mastered version - its well worth it. More details can be found :HERE: and some reviews :HERE:

Setlist:

1. Chapter 1 - 7:21
2. Chapter 2 - 8:07
3. Chapter 3 - 7:47
4. Chapter 4 - 10:17
5. Chapter 5 - 6:22
6. Chapter 6 - 9:18
7. Chapter 7 - 21:20

Help Japan & Listen to Some Great Music

Keith Kenniff, also known as Goldmund & Helios has started a wonderful project to raise money to help the people of Japan by creating a phenomenal double CD featuring music, much of which has been featured here on and off over the years. An incredible line of 40 artists. :Website:
In his own words:

"After learning about the tragic events of the Japanese earthquake on March 11th my wife, Hollie, and I were talking about ways to help. We decided to ask a few friends to join a compilation to help raise money. A few quickly became many as we were overwhelmed and warmed by the eagerness of these musicians to get involved.

"For Nihon" features some of the premier names in ambient / experimental music and 100% of the profits from the sale of this album
will be donated to the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund set up by New York's Japan Society.

The album is currently being finalized, and will be available digitally from our shop and your favorite retailers (iTunes, emusic etc...) very soon. It will also be pressed as a two-cd set shortly after.

The following is a short sampler featuring some of the songs from contributing artists"

Sigur Rós - Kárahnjúkar Protest Concert Reykjavik - SBD 01.15.2003-

Sigur Rós - Kárahnjúkar Protest Concert Reykjavik - SBD 01.15.2003

Ive been very busy of late so haven't had much time for the blogs. To make up for a lack of posting I'd like to offer something very special and as yet unheard, (at least in any listenable quality!) This 3 track concert is incredibly rare and unique. The first track 'Samskeyti' is a very different minimal version. The second track 'Big' made an appearance on the 'Peel Session and the third track is a wonderful extended version of Avalon... with vocals!
One of the things that makes these tracks so good is hearing Jónsi just 'go for it' using the full emotive power of his voice. A truly unique and enjoyable Sigur Rós concert.

Set List:

01 Samskeyti - (mimimal, different version)
02 Big - (1st time played live)
03 Avalon - (extended with vocals)
