Jónsi - Paradiso, Amsterdam 02.06.2010 Sbd - Re Master
Another superb sounding concert from Jónsi. In some ways the best we have yet. Stunning - see for yourself! :) *I would like to recommend always to start listening to any re-masters on these blogs with your EQ set to 'flat' or 'off' and then changing it as you wish in dependence on your personal set up* I usually master them to sound as intended with no EQ. This then, hopefully, gives you as plenty of scope to then adjust your EQ to your own preferred type of sound.
Set List:
01 Stars In Still Water
02 Hengilás
03 Icicle Sleeves
04 Kolniður
05 'Vibraphone Song'
06 Tornado
07 Sinking Friendships
08 St Naive
09 Go Do
10 Boy Lilikoi
11 New Piano Song
12 Un-named New Piano Song
13 Around Us
14 Animal Arithmetic
15 Grow Till Tall

great great great!!!
I think it would bea good idea to publish the original files without any mastering. Personally, I don't like the mastering you do in this concert. Sometimes it seems very manipulated and some noise sounds as a result of your mastering. And the bass and drums sound bad, losing their force. I'm not trying to attack you, maybe the original files have these characteristics too, but I found those problems in the audio.
Thanks so much for the comment, I really appreciate the input. Interesting points. I personally really liked it due to how everything sounds very balanced, no instruments stand out in the mix and as such I just seemed to enjoy the music itself. In general I try to master as flat / neutral as possible (Unfortunatly not possible in this case...)as most people will be listening on their mp3 players with less than audiophile headphones so...they can adjust to their own style with their EQ settings. There are some artifacts on this recording but that is a long story...
I would be happy to send you a CD with the original files on it, if that helps. please email & we can arrange that if you wish, NP :)

Hi again! the problem with the audio was not yours, was mine! sorry for the last message... I had moved the EQ and it sounded some extra noise because of it. Now I have listened again with a neutral EQ i think your job has been great. Sorry again for the confusion. I think this concert is better audio quality than Chicago concert. Thank you so much for the job. I appreciate so much this blog.
Thanks again,
This has been very useful for me, I might in future mention more about starting with a 'flat' EQ to begin with! (I said this on the Jonsi HMV I did)
I've totaly freaked myself out loads of times doing this - I do a master, check how it sounds on my ipod with different headphones...forget I had something like 'rock EQ' set and freak myself out thinking 'What the hell happened!!'
hahahaha
Happy you enjoy the music here and again thanks for your input, its always vvery much appreciated x
thanks very very much, it sounds really really really great, the best substitute for a probably never released dvd of this great tour
It is one of the best concerts I've ever heard.
What are the words in final part of Grow Till Tall? That's completely amazing!!
Thanks for this concert, it sounds great changing my EQ to whatever I want. :)
Thanks for this recording! I was at the show and it was briliant.
Cheers, Ram6
Holy crap, just listened again to that storm in Grow till tall! Same emotions when i heard it live, fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Ramses
^ Thats the plan! :)
what can i say .... simply great ... thanks so much for your great blog!!!
Thanks for upping this superb concert. Sounds more like a broadcast than a soundboard.
Thank you very, very much once again. *sigh*. Thank you!!!!
hi VR,
great stuff, as usual...;-)
especially since I was actually at this show!!!
one question: what's the source for your remaster?,
the audio from the 3voor12.vpro.nl video webcast?, or a true soundboard source?
just curious...
muchas gracias,
Edwin
