Sigur ros - Rare, Unreleased and Different
Sigur ros - Rare, Unreleased and Different
There are 2 * albums here. The first one is dedicated to rare and unreleased songs and the second to songs that are in some way different to the album versions. With the exception of Guitardjamm and Vaka the second album is probably only of interest to serious fans. This doesnt refer to fans with no sense of humour but to fans who, like myself, get excited at hearing even a slightly different version of a song. Enjoy
All these tracks are live recordings or not commercially available
* Note: as I find more rare and unreleased tracks I will add them to this post

This live version of "Samskeyti" is incredibly beautiful. Excellent mastering job as well.
Oops. That was me. I was still signed in to a different account when I posted the comment. Anyway, awesome "Samskeyti".
Crikey! Thats a relief. I know Sigur ros is good but the beatles AND the apostles visiting the blog. That would have been a bit much :)
The BBC Culture Show performance of 'Njosnavelin' is worth the download on it's own. I'm so glad to have got a copy of this at last!
Most of the links are blocked :(
I have written to them and to have this resolved soon
The link for 'album 1' goes to the rapidshare for 'album 2'
fixed - apologies
"03 Avalon (Extended and with lyrics)"
probably 'vocals' is more suitable than 'lyrics' in the case of Jonsi! however Congratulations! it's wonderful to have in my collection this kind of rare pearls.
the real name of the song written here as "Fljugda" should be 'Fljúgðu', released on "Smekkleysa í Hálfa Öld", the compilation released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of icelandic independence, before Von. the song was added thanks to Bjork.
Thanks Fran - i very much appreciate the input and have included your words on the post xx
Thanks for that.
thank you very much for putting up these songs! it's a wonder to find things like these!
^_____^
I'm happy to help :)
Hi, I just want to say thank you very much for all your effort with this site, it's really incredible. I wish I could have the dedication you do. I really love Sigur Rós.
P.S. In "Post 4 - Rare/Different" there is a version of Milanó (Called "SR - 20010713d1t8 - Milano" (in the download archive)that is not listed. Where was it from? Can you update Post 4 list please.
Thank You Very Much
Thanks Niclesse for letting me know. I have updated the post. The song is a very unusual but very blissful version of Milano as sung at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in 2001, one of the very best Live concerts of SR. I've just re-uploaded a fresh Re master of my first effort which now, for me sounds just wonderful.
best wishes
jon
